I think it is good to an extent that they allowed the few cars with minor infractions of the rules a couple of weeks to work out the changes!!! It would be a shame to lose such talent and cars in the factory stock class!!! Understand I am not even concernd with what others do to their cars!!!! However it was unfair that a car got disqualified two weeks ago, and didnt get the two weeks!!! Also if drivers continue to get two weeks we can get wild then have 2 weeks to change it and think up something new!! Once again please understand I am not worried with what others do to their cars, its not my job to police the rules and I never would say a word to anyone about someones car!!! I only worry about what I do to my car, but what I am doing isnt working LOL!!!! My only point is if they get two weeks, so should the car that got disqualified!! And that guy still thinks I hit him at springfield, but I didnt!! LMAO!! Happy 4th!!

I agree with most of what you've said but let me suggest that perhaps Thursday they could have inspected the car which was disqualified a couple weeks ago and if he passed Thursday night then dismiss the prior infraction... and if he didn't pass Thursday then the prior infraction remain. They were checking for different things Thursday night... even one thing they previously said was okay was not anymore... and since the car in question didn't finish in the top 5 we'll never know if that is why they waited until after the race to raise an issue of fairness with the officials... at least that is my understanding... if I'm wrong I'm sorry. This is also just my observation... nothing more, not trying to start any battles. Like you Keith I just want to have a fun time and I'm not saying anything against the guy in question... he's a great guy.

Another observation is these things being addressed mid-season and how that could ultimately affect the car count for a class I really enjoy and how Allen Autosports was specifically targeted. If they're going to say during the driver's meeting that this is a Factory Stock class and not a Car Chassis builders class... then I want to say who in this class has build their own chassis? I don't know of any, but then again I don't know everyone. Seems like there may be some confusion between the Factory Stock class and the Bomber class. So... anyone racing a Factory Stock car at Lucas Oil on a weekly basis that they build from the ground up themselves?

What I dont understand is why they are trying to control the cars by the things guys do with a torch and a welder that cost a couple hundred bucks, when you could control the motors that cost $20,000. I also don't understand why the tech officials at the lucas oil speedway always decide in the middle of the year to start enforcing the rules differently.

AMEN!!! And Ben to answer your question, James' car was built in Elmo's Garage from a $500 chassis and you all saw what he did with that. And no Jomac it wasn't a $20,000 motor either. I know he isn't racing this year, but I just had to throw that out there to say it can be done.

I don't think anyone is running a $20,000 engine in the factory stock class. Ruble had one for sale for $8000 over the winter that would be more than enough. I posted it in the for sale section many times.

What would that motor have cost brand new? There is a difference between having to spend that kind of money and doing it anyway...

I would say $15,000 would be the max on that motor brand new, dyno tuned and out the door with tax.

I understand that there may have been some over the years who have built their own... what I want to know is who currently runs weekly at Lucas Oil Speedway in a Factory Stock car they built themselves from the ground up.
