Guys it is just this simple races are won and lost in the shop and track promoters should never penalize a team for working on making there car fast. I have never been beat by a mount nor have I won by having mount modified. In modern day racing everyone can buy the latest greatest go fast part and that has really turned all classes into check book racing. It is unhealthy for racing in any form to not allow racers to learn how to make there cars work better. We all understand these metric cars have terrible suspension design yet we have to compete against camaro's that are much better design in stock form. If everybody would roll up there sleeves and figure out there problems instead of worrying about what some one else is doing to be fast this class would continue to grow but if common sense does not prevail this car count will suffer and kill the class.

The thing that is going to kill the class is changing the way the rules are enforced at mid-season EVERY year!

Yes Ben, that might of been fair, had they re teched him , or something, Really isnt even my battle, but in a sense it is everyones battle, to keep the class fair and going!!! He kinda got a raw deal, and I consider him , and you and alot of others up there my racing friends!! And some not!!!!!! lol As far as it turning into a conversation about money and horse power, I dont want to run a car in a 360 ruled class, with a two barrell! I would rather run 9th with a big motor , than in a class of boredom !!!!!!

Perhaps he did get a raw deal, I don't profess to know all the details... but it definitely wouldn't be fair to disqualify a car for something they said was legal until Thursday night. Now there have been over 900 views to this discussion since it began and we know of one person that has built their own factory stock. I think that puts to rest that none of us Factory Stock guys should be made to feel guilty by track officials for not building our own car... choosing Allen Autosports or otherwise.

I also don't want to run a 360... if they want to have an A Factory class and a B Factory class then they can let us run with horsepower and those concerned about horsepower can run a 360 B Factory. B Factory could be a nice alternative... or replacement for the bomber class now that their motors are getting out of control.

Oh, only 15,000. I think I will order two for a steal like that.

That $15,000 motor was for sale for $8,000 over the winter. I posted it in the classified section many times. I believe it is now in an A Mod that is running very well. Looks like a lot of people missed out on a great deal.

Why not just bring back the Superstock class? That is essentially what this class is becoming anyway. Just an idea :|

I can't speak for Lucas but perhaps the reason they have the Factory Stocks is that you can clearly see that there are 3 different classes. Superstocks look a lot like Late Models and so this would blur the current clear distinction between the classes. Perhaps that is why they don't run B-Mods.

The other thing I think is funny. In 08 I brought my car to lucas. I ran hot laps and the heat race, then the tech guys came to me and told me I would NOT be allowed to run the feature because I had illegal shock mounts... no 2 weeks to fix or anything.. could not go out on the track! To quote them I was told " it was not fair to my (lucas') weekly racers who follow the rules, to let me race".

I'm not sure of the details of the car being diqualified, so I have no coment on it. With that being said I know a lot of people say we are Super Stocks or have to expensive engines. Remeber Super Stocks have 4 link at most tracks they run,we don't.Lat year I was a Rookie at Lucas, who bought a Factory Stock with a little motor.I had never ran dirt track before and every one was great to me. I got lucky and won a Heat Race at the end of the year with a worn out motor.I spent less than $5000 to have my motor fresh up. Some people complain we are too fast, I say thats racing and I'm glad to be a Lucas regular. Motors don't make the car great experinced drivers do. I've seen Chris in the #71 car run right up front with the best of them. To me he, is a great driver with a small motor. Some day as I learn I hope to get a Feature win it may be 5 years from now. I just know the Level of drivers at Lucas is great, It's not about the check book,it's about the talent of drivers. There is an old saying in racing "The cream rises to the top". Just my two cents.
Tim

Agreed! You need a distinction between classes.
