The 'body rules' changed last year by the Show-Me Series were to allow the Show-Me type cars to run against the MARS and other open cars and giving them an incitive to do so. Then a few open guys complained when a few spec cars with big spoilers beat them. So MARS took that away. A lot of Show-Me cars don't even run the big spoiler anymore for Show-Me races. And a spoiler isn't that big of deal. I think if the spoiler was the only thing guys had to change there would be a lot of guys taking the 10 minutes to change them out and they'd be at Lucas.

At this point the discussion is worthless really. ULMA isn't interested in doing anything but helping their own cars (understandably). While trying to keep the 'outsiders' to a minimum. They are kind of like the kids with a club house that you can't play in unless you bring naked pictures of your sister... but, you can't eat their cookies.

......................................................................
Kind of looks that way, don't it...........and I done sold all them pictures
I have real careful not to slam anyone on this, and no one deserves to be, especially the racers, but I guess not all feels that way....... To bad, but it's their sand box, and they can play with whoever they want
Have a nice day

And Rex is exactly right. The ULMA/Show-Me/Crate deal has to come together for weekly late model racing to stay strong.

Jason I don't know why you are beating this dead horse. IF the SHOW-ME GUYS would show up to Lucas and show support to the ULMA I'm guessing the ULMA would be open to discussion. BUT That hasn't happened. Rex has been to Lucas twice along with Chris Morelock and Phil Edmundson showed up last Saturday. Other than that I don't see to many other Show-Me guys showing support that they would run weekly at Lucas. Please don't say if they change the rules they would show up. Lucas changed the rules last year and they didn't show up.

Just wanting to say I'm not slamming any of the racers with ULMA... we raced up there several times a few years ago and everyone was really nice and fun to race with. And I know of few of them came to Springfield last year and ran with us and again very nice guys and very nice to race with.

I guess you just can't question the establishment with out sounding like you're beating someone down.

Cbork- sorry not trying to beat a dead horse. I guess its a never ending circle of doom... the bulk of the Show-Me guys won't show till the rules are better.. and the ULMA won't consider a change till the Show-Me guys show up. (que 'Circle of Life' by Elton John here)

Here's to hoping the 2 come together somewhere down the road.

The way I look at it the Spec guys have to come to Lucas and show support. Most of them seem to be just fine and dandy happy running the Show-Me Series and Monett.

Well said.
And the so called sand box or tree house is open to anyone who wants to play. No pictures required. :D

Can't the ULMA drivers run the SHOW-ME series without changing anything on their cars? If so, why would the SHOW-ME cars change their spoilers, add weight and rescale to go to Lucas and run aginst cars that have 100 to 200 more hp. Doesn't add up to me. Maybe I haven't understood the rules correctly. Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks. TRAVIS

I have a steel block motor, but according to ULMA it isn't big enough  (just kidding ) please don't blast me for that.
we are building an all steel motor, but funds are really tight this year, so don't know if we will get it done this year.....sure miss racing at Lucas with all my friends, and sho-me is running less and less shows, but thats life.
this thread seems to be turning into a pissing match, so I shall bow out of it, Lucas does not need any negitives.
Danny, please don't think I am slamming ULMA in any way, that is not my intent, as I have said before , they are a good group of racers. Your winning figures are a little off though, I don't think a sho-me, or current sho-me motor has won at Lucas this year, but I could be wrong.....anyany
See ya soon somewhere Chris.

I didnt think you were slamming ULMA, its all good, you were just speaking your input.
As for the winning figures, i should have listed it as Spec Motor not Show me motor. Just got wrapped up in the show me part.
But its all correct, i keep track of all race results from all tracks under ULMA, this is one way we have to look at the class as to what motors are finishing where, etc, etc.
And i agree its time to drop this topic and move forward.

it seems to me that when 2 or more different series try and race together it very rarely ends up working out evenly between the different series/rules there are only 2 things I think that the ULMA needs to change
1. ALLOW A FREAKIN DRY SUMP I have more money in an oil pan and custom wet sump pump than I have in any of the dry sump setups I have a dry sump isnt about performance its about protecting a motor
2. THE CURRENT SHOCK RULE IS IGNORANT they either need to not allow adjustable shocks or use any one you want to allowing double adjustable non canister shocks and then claim its about keeping cost down is just stupid afco t2's cost $300 more than the silver series afco's not that afco shocks are the best they are the most common same goes for ALMOST every other shock out there they have little if no price difference between the canister or non canister shocks

Guys I'm not trying to slam anyone. I'm just an avid dirt LM fan and have been for nearly 40 yrs. I only want what is best for the sport. I don't have a dog in this fight, only trying to think of some ideas that will help the sport. If 50 lbs. of weight and 2 inches of spoiler is the only thing seperating these two series from running some races together, someone one needs to think of the FANS in the situation. Without them we wouldn't have a track to go to! jmo TRAVIS

I understand fans wanting more cars. But until a majority of the Show-Me guys show support to the ULMA, the ULMA will do whats right for the ULMA guys. Lucas opened the door last year and hardly anybody showed up, I think we actually lost cars because of that decision. The Show-Me cars have a touring series and can run Monett it's not like they are sitting on the front porch with a ball and nobody to play with.
